Bracknell Forest Council have been announced as one of the finalists in this year’s e-Government National Awards. The highly sought-after awards recognise excellence across eleven categories, highlighting the UK’s top public sector innovators in the use of technology, enabling businesses and citizens to better communicate with councils, central government, NHS and other public sector organisations.
SmartCitizen have been selected to assist the London Borough of Barking & Dagenham as they implement their innovative Streetbase Connect Youth Card scheme.
The card, being launched by Barking and Dagenham Council and NHS Barking and Dagenham, will give users access to health, leisure, youth and library services across the area and will also be used to access school meals.
Owen is SmartCitizen Ltd's Managing Director and has been involved in smartcards for over 10 years. He is responsible for writing many of the specifications currently in the public domain relating to the encoding of MiFare, JCOP and DESFire cards and has vast experience in both the configuration and security of smartcard e-purses as well as ITSO.
Simon has been involved in smartcard schemes since 2000 when he was the technical lead for the highly reputed Cornish Key and National Smart Card Projects. In his role as Technical Operations Director of SmartCitizen Ltd he is responsible for all operational works carried out by the company, including development works, support and maintenance contracts, and card fulfillment and production.
Stewart has a background in information security, with 15 years experience working in security related roles across both the public and private sector and with local authorities in particular. He is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) and PRINCE2 Practitioner, and acts as both security consultant and project manager for SmartCitizen, with a particular emphasis on ensuring that customer data confidentiality is protected to the highest standards.
Sarah works as a Technical Accounts Manager for the company and handles the majority of new customer smartcard projects. Sarah acts as Project Manager and Trainer for customers implementing the SmartConnect Card Management System, and as an experienced analyst provides guidance on how integration with 3rd party systems and databases can be achieved.
Matt joined SmartCitizen Ltd in 2005 and since that time has been responsible for the continued development of the SmartConnect Card Management System as well as the creation of many other smartcard software solutions developed by SmartCitizen Ltd. Matt's role as Technical Consultant also sees him provide support to customers as and when required.
Roy has over 35 years experience working in IT within Local Government and was the driving force behind the Cornish Key smart card project initiated in 2000. Roy was Corporate Services Director for Cornwall Council's IT department until May 2009 when he signed on to SmartCitizen's books to provide consultancy on a vast range of topics, including CIP, ITIL v3, EFQM (qualified assessor) and IIP.
Pete has worked on a number of high profile smartcard projects since 2000. His expertise lies in the area of on-card development including ITSO, on-card applets and card security mechanisms. He also has experience with website and database design and undertakes a variety of development projects for SmartCitizen.
